Game Changer

Reviewer: Anne , Cambridge, MA Date: May 05, 2010
The Mountain Buggy Urban Jungle is incredible. We love it. When our baby was born in November 09, our daughter was just 3.5 years old. We use the cot on one side for the baby and the other side for the toddler. It is perfect. The stroller is very agile and smooth, amazingly so, and it works well in the city. We live in Cambridge, MA where there is tons of snow and roots pulling up sidewalks etc. The Urban Jungle handles these obstacles no problem. It is really the best. We cannot recommend it enough.

Buggy Urban Double stroller (2009)

5
Reviewer: Aster , New Orleans, LA Date: April 13, 2010
I got mine in 2009 right before the 2010 model was out. I needed double stroller badly and after reading reviews and trying the mountain buggy no other stroller (other than mountain buggy) was going to do it for me so I got the 2009. I ordered it online. It arrived within 7 days via FedEX. Nicely packed and with RMA (to return the stroller anytime in new condition if I am not satisfied for any reason). Well I LOVE THE STROLLER and I am glad I picked Mountain Buggy, because I think they truly make their stroller with care. I have to tell you, although I would've liked to have the new features of the 2010 in my 2009; I love the Mountain Buggy Urban Double stroller. Its solid construction and its maneuverability are hard to compare with other strollers and I have tried and read reviews of other strollers. It is amazing how this stroller is easy to maneuver, to collapse and store. I also like how the front wheels do not stick out too much in front of the stroller as other jogging strollers do. I love the basket under the seats and the little pockets on the side of the basket that are so handy. I use them to store a few diapers, changing mats, wipers, and hand sanitizer. I don't even need to carry a diaper bag when I am using this stroller. The kids love it. They are always excited to ride on it and fall asleep easily in it. I took this stroller on our cruise to the west Caribbean just this past spring break and it was a life saver. Whether we were shopping or on the excursions the stroller came handy. The wheels pivot 360 degree so it can easily be pushed and turned with one hand. After long beach day or park day, the kids rested and took their nap on it. We didn?t have any problem fitting the stroller through all the doors on the shops, inside the cruise ship. On the excursions it strolls smoothly on all the surfaces gravel, dirt, sand, grass, roads, with no problem. The parking brake is very good. It works great on all surfaces. A lot of moms on the cruise ship liked the stroller and asked us where we got the stroller. It was hard not to get excited and go on and on how a life saver our stroller was. The push handle bar rises to accommodate my husband?s height or mine and that was a plus. Couple things I wish I can figure out what to do about are securing the stroller once it is collapsed so it stays secured while I am loading it to the car and keeping the sun roof in place. These are minor things but would be nice if there were technical support page out on the web site to refer to. I tried calling for advice or suggestions but I would have had to leave a message to get a call back and I didn?t do it because I am always on the go and I would have missed their calls.

We're On Our Fifth Mountain Buggy...

5
Reviewer: Anonymous , Mount Vernon, NY Date: January 27, 2010
Our family has now owned five Mountain Buggy strollers (as well as a Phil and Teds V02 Sport--worth mentioning since the companies have merged.) Most have been resold (in Europe) within 6 months of purchase. So far, we have owned a 2005 Urban Single, a 2007 Urban Single, two 2009 Swifts, and currently a 2010 Duo. All that to say, I think I should be well qualified to write a review.

The 2010 Duo pushes like a dream. Even though it is large, the amazing maneuverability makes up for it. It fits through standard doorways just fine. In terms of the new improvements, we LOVE the separate sun canopies and the extra sun visors. One advantage to these is that it is now possible to "isolate" a sleeping child from a wide awake sibling. It is also convenient to have a bumper bar included.

Now, for the few minor issues I do have with the 2010: My biggest peeve is the new harness. I loved the simplicity of the previous models, which made it easy to add and remove seat inserts, footmuffs, etc. The current harness makes this a complicated process. Second, the hard backing behind the canvas seat has been changed. In my opinion, it is now a bit more difficult to rethread the harness heights, because there is less space for a hand to get in. (We still have a 2009 Swift, so I was able to compare the rethreading side by side.) Third, the foamy stuff on the handlebar cracked almost immediately after it was put to use. This has never been an issue with any of our other Mountain Buggies. These are all minor issues, and not significant enough for me to lower the review to four stars, but I did want to make note of them.

Overall, we love Mountain Buggy, and we hope Phil and Teds will continue to manufacture what we believe is the best stroller out there, despite recent corporate changes.
